urban food centre
inspired by the interdependency of the ecosystem, this design incorporates an interlocking concept to create a multi-story building intended for vertical growing and the selling of produce grown in-house. located in the heart of columbia city, washington.

located near the columbia city farmer’s market and across the street from a courtyard filled with green spaces.
floor plans.
a market space resides on the ground floor, leading down to a half-basement that houses the dining area.
the third floor caters to spaces for growing, especially so in the central glass core that allows for higher levels of sunlight. a library space is located at the north end while a classroom is located at the south end. these spaces are connected by the green central glass core and are entirely dedicated to educating visitors about various greeneries and vertical growing.
the rooftop allows for more outdoor growing spaces due to the accessibility to direct sunlight as well as a storage unit in the room located at the north end.
